Hello again!

As a new blogger, my goal for now is to try and do 2-3 posts a week. But I'm leaving out of town... again. And this time I will not have the available necessities like the Internet, phone, a computer,.. it's not that I don't want to, it's because I will be in the mountains in a cabin. Anywho, to let you in what I have planned this coming up week, a  friend of mine requested me to a post about wall decor - I'm going to make her wish granted. I already have a few great ideas without even putting extra holes on my walls. A least I hope anyway. HA!

But I leave you with this... A picture of thistles that I took a couple of weeks ago...
Have a super duper week!

Hello again!

I'm giving a lesson of geometry! Before you think "Really? I'm so over Geometry!", this is more of... . I guess you would call it a visual lesson? Anyway, I got this inspiration when I took a landscape architecture class of materials and plants when it came to me - I can use this idea for decor! What I'm about to show you is perfect for a fire place mantel, floating bookshelfs, entertainment centers, perhaps a buffet table of your favorite personal items... or WHATEVER! So here it is... Let's think of equilateral, isosceles, and scalene triangles. Gosh, it makes me sound so smart! HA! I'll admit - I had to google the names of theses specific triangles to make my piont. So here are my picture examples of a few different ways to display!

FYI: These are taken on my entertainment center in my living room.

We'll start with visualizing the equalatural triangle:

The Scalene Triangle - a simple yet a modern look..

Then finally the Isosceles Triangle.

Consider yourself enlightened! Did I make geometry a little more fun? If you have any questions ask me!! Go ahead I dare you!!
Have fun and happy decorating!
It's yet another Friday folks and well I have 2 weeks worth to fit into 5 - but then again who says that it has to be 5??

Anyways here's a few great things that happened to me these last two weeks:

1. Turns out when I just flew into MI, I came just in time to a mini family reunion! It was so great to see everyone at one time since I wasn't there for as long as I normally would be. ...

What a goofy picture of me! HA! Here chatting with my cousin and aunt.
2. I love seeing Lake Michigan from the sky. It's so pretty to see and knowing I'm so close to my home/native state.

3. When I first landed my brother took me to this great restaurant called the Twisted Roaster. They are sooo great!!! Everything made there is made from and comes from the mitten state. Plus it's was a great time for me to catch up with my brother and laugh so hard till I cry. HA! I love him and miss him.

4. Essenhaus - such great Amish food! Its a MUST when I get there. And this is also the only place that its a MUST of having dessert even if have to take it home. My fav is the red raspberry cream pie!
It's literally making my mouth water just thinking about it!

5. Love Lake Michigan - make it my natural habitat. :)

6. Ahh one more.... my brothers house. So adorable. Colonial architecture inside and out, and all around a great place to be. Plus my last day we both put together a mini birthday party for my mom so I could be there to celebrate it with her.

How was your week???

Hello Folks!

Sorry I've been a little bad about keeping up on posts. I've just gotten back into the grove from getting back from the great lake state. I have so many neat ideas to share with you on how tos on design and decorating. For the time being however, I'll give you a desk top lift (sort of) for your laptop, at home office, or your office at work. Has anyone heard of smashing magazine? If you google smashing magazine the month whatever year it is they have the cutest (and some a little weird) desktop images with or without calenders.  So go on smashing magazine and update your computer backround! It's one of the simple pleasures I quite enjoy for myself each month.

Here is what you'll find for august!
